It's so beautiful to see the beauty in the suffering though - the fact that you could relate a little more to infertile couples and I'm sure appreciating those beautiful babes you already had! So awesome! :)Sheenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242163910223367532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-54093786099045092682016-01-06T10:52:55.202-06:002016-01-06T10:52:55.202-06:00Just found this--and the story of your dating, eng...Just found this--and the story of your dating, engagement, and marriage. I haven't been able to read a lot this year! :) Great story, and thanks for sharing. I have never had infertility (and have 7 children, including one set of fraternal twins), but I know couples who have suffered with infertility. I am always amazed at the faith and perseverance of couples who struggle with infertility. It's such a huge cross. I did have 3 miscarriages after #6, and that helped me have a lot more compassion and understanding for those who deal with infertility--especially before you are blessed with any children. It's tough! God bless you and the family and the newest little one! :)PamLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00868649564879153958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-4611937515190638452015-04-01T14:10:51.718-05:002015-04-01T14:10:51.718-05:00Thanks Jen! God works in such mysterious ways and as nerve-wracking as it is sometimes, it's so amazing that we have the ability to view the road behind us, especially after getting what we've been praying and waiting for. That perspective is most times the best perspective. :) Thanks for commenting! It makes me so happy when I hear from people who have experienced the same thing as we have. We are not alone in anything and that is so comforting! I know so many women will find comfort through it. We lost our first baby boy at 5 months, had a year and a half of infertility before getting pregnant again (we also fostered 2 kids during that time), and now I have 2 little boys, 2 years apart. Your friend's quote just really resonated with me because I feel the same way, as crazy as it sounds - all that I've gone through has given me perspective that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. And now I know how to be there for my close friends who are going through similar situations. Unexpected blessings, for sure. Thank you for being ...Beautifully written, Sheena! Thank you for being so eloquent about such a difficult subject. You've inspired me to finally comment (I've been reading for years, but am just typically not a commentor. Trying to change that.)

My husband and I also struggled with infertility for many years. After a miscarriage and years of feeling miserably sick, I was treated at Pope Paul VI Clinic in Omaha, home of NaPro. While I did not get pregnant after my NaPro experience, they did figure out my thyroid issues, and I *immediately* began feeling better. So grateful to Dr Hilgers and the work he does.

Fast forward a couple years, we twice pursued adoption and were able to adopt 2 beautiful newborns, now 5 and 1 years old. Then, because God is hilarious, when our son (the one year old) was 4 weeks old, I found out I was pregnant. Hahahahaha. So now we have another daughter, 8 months old. And life is totally crazy with babies 9 months apart (to the day!) but it's also perfect.

I often look at my kids and smile. We are so totally supposed to be their parents. And if we hadn't had our infertility journey, we wouldn't have our older 2. And I simply cannot imagine life without them. God completely knows what he is doing. Trusting him during a painful journey is hard. But man - the end results are spectacular!!!

Ashley Castohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12989775950453559631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-40819161855980923792015-03-26T21:59:14.864-05:002015-03-26T21:59:14.864-05:00Thanks Bonnie! So frustrating coming from "care givers".
Thank you for sharing a little bit about your story! I got a lot of "Well you better hope they're (the twins in utero) a boy and a girl so you can be done!" stuff and lots and lots of looks and comments when I was carting around the 16-month-old twins plus a another big belly. It's sad this society we live in. About y'all though, I say go for more! You should! If your heart wants more, God might just be calling you to more. ;) I'll be praying for you!Sheenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242163910223367532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-24073854315023939722015-03-26T21:42:44.318-05:002015-03-26T21:42:44.318-05:00Wow Colleen!!! I honestly believe that God used my infertility (not only to teach me patience and trust) to find my cancer. If I hadn't mentioned that we were going to a fertility clinic, my doctor wouldn't have checked my neck. After my cancer treatments, I had a scary ultrasound that led to more extensive tests to make sure my cancer was gone. I couldn't be pregnant for the scan, so I had to take a pregnancy test to confirm I wasn't pregnant (which was like a cruel joke). I found out I was cancer free on a Tuesday and found out I was pregnant on that Friday. At the earliest opportunity, God answered our prayers. God is good. :)Natalie | Mrs. Janney |https://www.blogger.com/profile/18312142177721655450noreply@blogger.com
