I'll bet they'll pass the second time with flying colors. :)Sheenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242163910223367532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-6211666880437055472018-06-02T10:51:51.079-05:002018-06-02T10:51:51.079-05:00Hi! We also tried around 21 months and had a similar experience to you! Thanks for the post! So yes, they always came to us to let us know they had to go. A step stool could easily solve that problem but the bathroom they go in is too small to have one sitting around. I looked for a folding one here and there but didn't ever look hard enough to find one and now they can get on by themselves and have been able to do that since they were about 2.5. :)Sheenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242163910223367532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-1728575218596212712015-07-02T20:19:17.461-05:002015-07-02T20:19:17.461-05:00Thanks for the detailed post! I'd like to skip the toddler toilet because that seems confusing when we are out and about and they must use a regular toilet, but I'd also like them to be able to go independently. One is a light sleeper and therefore the one who has hardly wet the bed and the other is a really heavy sleeper who wets the bed more often than not because she simply doesn't wake up to the feeling of having to pee. :) We'll see how that all pans out. Your way sounds rational. I guess by saying we're "training" for night, I mean that we're trying to teach the girls that if they need to go in the middle of the night, that they need to wake us; that's it's not okay for them to go in their pants. They need to know that it's okay to get up when they're sleeping if they have to go to the bathroom. Does that make sense? I completely understand what you're saying though. We're not really accountable for our actions when we're asleep because, well, we're asleep. :) Sheenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242163910223367532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-65854813453740413832014-09-08T20:50:59.894-05:002014-09-08T20:50:59.894-05:00Thanks Kristina! There is ...Just something to possibly keep in mind. There is a difference in being able to train during the day and being able to stay dry at night. We had a family member that wet the bed well into their teen years, completely unable to stay dry. So (in my limited experience) they are not the same thing and we don't "train" for night at all.Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15968478074259385397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-35860384886931623662014-09-08T10:32:40.261-05:002014-09-08T10:32:40.261-05:00Wow!! I have tried a lot of tips and tricks and it does take a LOT of patience. I have finally got them trained for now (I haven't seen or smell any messes around the house). I'd love to share what I did email me at billie.g.hines[at]gmailAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16895173856862177912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-17762248202409962752014-09-05T21:51:03.282-05:002014-09-05T21:51:03.282-05:00Hey Christina! I really think that at 22 months our girls could've been potty-trained hadn't there been two to train and another baby to take care of! As for the signs, I personally think people make too big of a deal about "the signs". Some people say that when you kid starts taking an interest in the toilet, they're showing signs. I don't know about your sweet girl but mine were interested in the toilet from the minute they started crawling! So, I wouldn't worry too much about the signs. One thing we started doing a few weeks before we started training that I think helped a lot was making a big deal about how "yucky" their poop was when we'd change a poopy diaper. Another thing we did weeks before we started was take the girls to the bathroom with us when we had to go so they kind of got a feel for what goes on when we "go to the toilet". That makes for zero personal space and an awkward interest in mommy going pee but, it hits home a little in their noggins I think. :) Good luck! It's fun...after it's over. ;)Sheenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242163910223367532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3694300609096906230.post-35416905004621331312014-09-05T19:36:19.147-05:002014-09-05T19:36:19.147-05:00This came just in time !!! What are the signs ? :-/ thank you for the product links because I will certainly be buying all of those. (And I agree on the small potty and pulls ups. That will be a no go for us too. Thanks again!! <br />-Christina Christina McGuirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08457022124400058147noreply@blogger.com
